Greeting songs for primary French teaching

Bonjour!

This week I wanted to share with you my favourite 'greeting' songs for French

Songs are a great way to start off the lesson and so I've created a 'greeting songs' playlist on Youtube with my favourite ones - which will not doubt gets updated as the year go on !

Children will love the (often silly!) videos and enjoy singing (and dancing!) along. I am sure you will be hearing renditions of the songs in the playground or find yourself singing them...to yourself !

I will also be adding more playlists in the near future on such things as : colours, numbers, traditionnal rhymes, etc. So feel free to check regularly and subscribe to the playlist/channel !

I leave you with my favourite song :
Au revoir!

Celebrating European Day of Languages - 26th September

This is how I will be celebrating EDL with my classes throughout the week.

First we will be looking at the TALK TO ME video and also listening to how to say hello in different languages - both resources available from the EDL website.

We will then concentrate on French greetings used throughout the day and try to work out which one which:

This year our chosen theme across the network schools is flying kites inspired by the international kite flying competition from Berk sur plage, in Picardie, northern France.

To tie in with the theme we will be making kites and decorate them with French greetings in Years 3 and 4 and follow a set of instructions written in French to makes kites in Year 5 and 6.

Also we will be reading 'Let's go fly a kite' - a simple story to learn or revise colours and numbers.

All resources are available to download (for free) from the Janet Lloyd Network website  http://www.janetlloyd.net/

Pictures to follow !!

À bientôt !
